As Design Lead at The Team, I managed the NS&I app creative. NS&I, a UK state-owned savings bank, has over 24 million customers and more than £218 billion in investments. Over three years, I led the UX and visual design, developed new features, and built a design library.

User’s first
With nearly 2 million users, enhancing functionality was crucial. I worked with key stakeholders and the broader NS&I team to develop each feature set. The work involved customizing a white-label banking app, which presented unique set of challenges and underscored the necessity of our strategic approach.
The Process
As each new feature set was validated and approved by the client, it went through development and user testing before I began the visual design stage. Using the brand book developed by The Team and the digital assets created in the first app releases, I set about designing new features for the app while simultaneously working on feature improvement.
Keep on moving
The Team crafted a visually striking brand, and collaborating with their motion team to develop dynamic assets was really fun. I enjoyed art directing the movement of iconography and refining the interactions among the letters 'NS&I' making for a playful experience.
Building a Design system
While designing and developing the NS&I app, I simultaneously created their digital design system. Given that NS&I's digital presence would shift internally starting in 2024, it was crucial to ensure the design system was clear, concise, and user-friendly.
